Two well-known stars, former f(x) member Sulli and actor Yoo Ah In, are often in the spotlight for their SNS activity.Recently, Yoo Ah In got a bad rap for his Instagram post regarding the death of the late Kim Joo Hyuk.
Sulli is also an avid user of social media, as she posts random photos
of herself, or photos playing with her Sphynx cat, causing many to
question her mental health.
One media outlet asked a psychiatrist to interpret some of Sulli and Yoo Ah In's social media postings, in order to clarify any misunderstandings.Psychiatrist Director Choi explained, "Many may get the impression that they're just doing it for the attention and to stir up controversy; however, that's not true. It is actually an act of impulsive behavior. Likewise, impulsive beings do not think twice before saying something or taking action, thus, leading to such consequences. They are unable to control what they want to say and have the urge to speak their minds."
In Yoo Ah In's case, "He is well known for writing constructively and expressing his intricate ideas through words. He received a lot of positive response from fans," Choi said.As for Sulli, she writes in more simpler terms. To this, Director Choi described Sulli's actions as, "hyperactive behavior", saying, "The minds of hyperactive people are in disarray, as they enjoy pulling pranks on people and the likes."
Lastly, Director Choi commented on the serious impact social media can have on an individual. "It's only a matter of time when a person becomes the center of attention due to a sensitive or controversial topic. As a result, he/she is unable to control his urges and continues to get sucked into the very nature of social media."
